The effect of game playtherapy on the sociality improvement of neglected children

Abstract
This study focused on the effect of gameplay therapy on the sociality improvement of Neglected child. The subject of study was school-aged children who showed a low sociality because he or she was neglected in physical, emotional, educational, medical, and sexual respect regardless the existence of intention by parents. The aim of this study was to investigate what extent of change in sociality that gameplay therapy affects on neglected children was shown in free-play, pictures of school life and situations beyond the treatment. The design of this study was of pre and post design. I applied the gameplay therapy to the experiment group and with no treatment to the control group. This study was composed of 14 sessions each for 90 minutes twice a week. The results of research were as follows: 1. In the situation of free play, the children in the experiment group increased their social interaction with those of other groups, and positive emotional response increased a little. 2. In Kinetic School Drawing (KSD), there was no serious difference between the experimental group and the controlled group, but children of experimental group showed the ascent of desire for social relationship. 3. In the scenes beyond treatment room, children of experimental group showed an improvement in their social functions such as self-control, cooperation and self assertion as compared with those of controlled group children.
